Vancouver, CANADA – June 22, 2021. Foresight Cleantech Accelerator Centre and SVG Ventures I THRIVE, a leading agrifood innovation and investment platform headquartered in Silicon Valley, today announced a partnership to support technology-driven solutions for the agriculture and food sectors.
As Canada’s cleantech ecosystem accelerator, Foresight accelerates the scale-up and adoption of high-potential Canadian cleantech solutions. SVG’s mission is to advance the next generation of technology to support agri-food innovation.
The partners have agreed to work together in several areas including programs, events, and investments. Foresight has worked with 550+ Canadian cleantech ventures, including over 30 ventures through the BC-based agritech venture acceleration program (AVAP), and will leverage this network to refer applicants to THRIVE’s award-winning global Accelerator Program. Finally, Foresight and THRIVE will work together to foster new cross-border communications initiatives on programs, events, and opportunities of interest to their respective networks.
“Agrifood and agritech solutions are a huge part of addressing climate change, and THRIVE is a leader in accelerating innovation in this sector,” says Jeanette Jackson, CEO of Foresight. “We are excited about the potential of this partnership, particularly the opportunity to introduce emerging Canadian ventures to valuable Silicon Valley connections and increase opportunities for global recognition, scale up, and access to international markets.”
“We are excited to announce our partnership with Foresight and broaden our reach within the Canadian ecosystem,” said John Hartnett, Founder & CEO of SVG Ventures | THRIVE. “The platform and network they have created is impressive and this collaboration will provide opportunities for Canadian start-ups to access THRIVE’s global ecosystem and leverage our platform to help them scale.”
