Vancouver, CANADA – February 21, 2019 — With the aim of encouraging cross-border collaboration to achieve a greener planet through the adoption of clean technologies, the CleanTech Alliance and Foresight Cleantech Accelerator Center met in an international breakfast, which was attended by the British Columbia Premier John Horgan.
The two associations, represented by Tom Ranken, President of CleanTech Alliance and Jeanette Jackson, Managing Director of Foresight have signed a memorandum of understanding, where both organizations commit to work together to support one another in the joint objective of accelerating the adoption of clean technologies throughout the Pacific Northwest region and the world.
“Technology and sustainability have no borders. The time to act on climate change is now! We need a robust, global ecosystem with all stakeholders engaged to drive change and investment across multiple sectors to ensure a successful transition to a sustainable future” explains Jeanette Jackson. “This memorandum of understanding sets a new standard for collaboration between Canada and the US in the Cascadia region. Together, through programming, support, and networks, we will ensure everyone from early-stage start-ups to international conglomerates has the best opportunities to scale up and transform clean technology adoption like never before.”
The CleanTech Alliance and Foresight have agreed on 3 central areas of participation in the memorandum. Firstly, mutual work to achieve cross border collaborations and associations in the cleantech sector. Secondly, both organizations will explore opportunities for advance joint cleantech research and business development across the region. And finally, The CleanTech Alliance and Foresight will work together in events, programming, outreach and more in order to create participatory collaborations that lead to a cleaner world.
Thanks to these 3 commitments, steps will be taken towards a cleaner environment by encouraging cross-border energy research, improving access to cleantech resources and cooperating to accelerate clean technologies from the labs to the marketplace.
